Dr. David Greenberg, Chairman of the Board
Dr. David Greenberg recently became the Medical Spokesperson for thebutterflycares.org, an international organization which raises funds and awareness for Brain Injuries that are both physical, (Concussion) and Non Physical (PTSD). He is also the Chairman of the Board for the Dr. David Greenberg Hive Charitable Foundation. The Foundation distributes needed funds and works with other likeminded charities helping those affected by Brain Trauma.
Dr. David Greenberg has incorporated a lifelong interest in sports into his practice, both as a physician and participant. Dr. Greenberg was the team physician for the Toronto Argonauts from 1993 to 2004, a tenure which included 2 Grey Cup Victories. He has been the Host Physician for a number of events featuring elite athletes, including the 2001 Women’s World Hockey Championship, The Canadian Professional Figure Skating Championship, Stars on Ice, The Sahara Cup Cricket Matches, The Father David Bauer Pre-Olympic Hockey Tournament, The World Netball Championship, the CIAU Hockey Championship, the Vanier Cup, The Nations Cup LPGA vs CPGA Golf Matches, The Donovan Bailey vs Michael Johnson Match race as well as the last 2 World Junior Hockey Championships held in Toronto. He has worked to help young elite athletes through development camps for the country’s top male and female basketball players at the Nike All-Canada Camps, as well as Junior Hockey players at the KSR Pro-Development camp. Dr. Greenberg was the first Physician asked to lecture on sports injuries at the inaugural World Congress on Sport Dentistry. Dr. Greenberg has also participated in some of these events, playing in goal at the World Doctors Hockey Championships, as well as for the Toronto Metros NHL Old-timers and the Toronto Argonauts in The CFL All-Star Hockey Tournament, along with other community fundraising events. Dr. Greenberg was the founding Medical Director for The Centre for Sport and Recreation Medicine, and continues to work with “elite athletes” of all skill levels, from pros, to those just trying to get better, as the Centre’s motto is “You don’t have to be a pro to be treated like a pro”.
Dr. Dave’s passion for working in the field of Brain Injuries can be traced back to his late father Dr. Joe Greenberg an inductee of the World Boxing Hall of Fame. Dr. David Greenberg is also the official spokesperson for Concussion Care Centres.
